- Was recently spotted testing
- Will be powered by a 440cc, single-cylinder engine
- Likely to get a roadster-like design
Hero MotoCorp has confirmed the name of its upcoming 440cc motorcycle, and it will be called the Mavrick. The brand announced the same on its social media handles a few hours ago. Moreover, the Mavrick test mule was spotted recently and revealed a few details as well.
Hero will equip the Mavrick 440 with LED illumination, round headlight, and a wide fuel tank with small shrouds at the front. The test bike also revealed that, unlike the X440, the Mavrick will use telescopic front forks and a small front wheel setup. Even the exhaust canister on the new Hero bike is different compared to the X440’s. Moreover, the Mavrick’s design inclines towards that of a roadster rather than a cruiser.
Powering the Mavrick will be a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, engine that makes 27bhp and 38Nm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox. Moreover, the features listed on the Mavrick could include full LED illumination, digital console with probable smartphone connectivity, dual-channel ABS, USB port, and a side stand sensor.
Along with the conventional forks and dual rear springs, the Mavrick will get a front and rear disc mounted on probable 17-inch wheels.
Hero has slated the Mavrick’s launch for 23 January, and we expect its asking price to be sub-Rs. 2 lakh, ex-showroom. Once launched, it will rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, and the Triumph Speed 400.
