Triumph has confirmed that they will be launching their range of motorcycles in India during the third quarter of this year. The company has said that they will announce their dealers, prices and booking procedure at the time of the launch. Triumph India confirmed this on an email to a BikeWale reader. A Q3 launch means that Triumph will most likely begin their Indian operations during the festival season.
Triumph had unveiled seven models during the 2012 Auto Expo. This includes the Tiger XC, Speed Triple, Street Triple, Storm, Bonneville, Daytona 675 and the Rocket III. The company had announced that they would bring these machines to India via complete-knocked-down (CKD) route. However, given the timelines, it seems that the company is expected to stick to complete-built-unit (CBU) route.
The British motorcycle maker had announced mouth-watering introductory prices during the Auto Expo but we expect them to be much higher at the time of launch due to inflation, depreciating rupee and other macro-economic factors.
Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore will be the first cities to get Triumph showrooms followed by Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Goa.
Edit: Triumph India also commented on BikeWale's page saying that they are serious about India launch in Q3 2013.
