Hero MotoCorp has announced in a statement that the ongoing issue of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in China has affected the supply of some components. This is expected to impact the two-wheeler brand’s planned production. As per the statement, the company expects to witness a 10 per cent reduction in the planned production for the month of February.
The new developments, however, will not affect the wholesale dispatches of the vehicles to the dealers during the month, Hero MotoCorp added in its announcement. The two-wheeler brand also suggested that it is tracking the developments and evaluating the options. Any further impact on the company’s production will depend on the developing situation in China. The Indian two-wheeler brand had produced 5,215,413 units in the first nine months of FY2019-20.
In other updates, the company is busy reshuffling its product portfolio. Last week, Hero MotoCorp announced the launch of three BS6-compliant vehicles – Destini 125, Maestro Edge 125 and Splendor Plus. Meanwhile, the company has silently discontinued models like the Karizma and the Xtreme Sports (150cc) from our market. Both, the Karizma and Xtreme Sports were discontinued due to lackluster sales.
