Bajaj Auto has further extended the original equipment warranty and free service validity. The Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer has posted on its website that the extension will be applicable on to the vehicles whose warranty and free service period will expire between 20 March 2020 and 31 May 2020 and it will be extended until 31 July 2020. It was previously extended until 31 May 2020.
The validity extension aims to ensure that the customers do not lose the warranty and free service benefits during the lockdown in the country due to Coronavirus Pandemic. The third iteration of the lockdown will end on 18 May 2020. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed in his recent address to the nation that the lockdown will be extended further.
Apart from extending the warranty and the free service period, Bajaj has also confirmed that it has commenced the process of reopening its dealerships and service centres in various parts of the country. The company stated in its announcement that the dealerships have taken permission from the respective local authorities before reopening the outlets. The dealerships will follow protocols to ensure the safety of customers and the staff.
