Honda 2Wheelers India has announced an extension of free service and warranty validity for its motorcycles and scooters. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer stated that the extension will be applicable on to the vehicles whose warranty and free service period will expire between 15 March 2020 till the end of lockdown. The validity will be extended until 30 June 2020.
The latest iteration of the country-wide lockdown is scheduled to end on 18 May. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed in his recent announcement that the lockdown will be extended further. The new version of the lockdown that will come into effect from 18 May 2020 will be different from the ones which the country has observed so far.
The extension of the warranty period and free service validity aims to ensure that the customers do not lose the benefits due to the lockdown. Regular readers would know that Honda 2Wheelers India has already reopened dealerships and service centres in several regions in the country. The dealerships and workshops located in orange and green zones have resumed operations 4 May 2020.
