- Triumph Street Tracker name trademarked
- Could be used for Bajaj Triumph naked roadster
- Bajaj Triumph bikes to be launched in late 2023
Triumph Motorcycles has filed trademarks for quite a few names for its upcoming bikes, one of which is 'Adventurer', which could be an adventure motorcycle based on Triumph’s 660cc platform. However, it’s the Street Tracker trademark that has caught our fancy. Why, you ask? Well, because it could be the name of the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph naked roadster. Let us explain.
Of all the new trademarks patented by Triumph in the global markets, the Street Tracker is an all-new name that hasn’t been used to date. Moreover, the word ‘Street’ implies that this could be used for a road-focused motorcycle. And, given that Triumph has removed the Street moniker from the modern classic range, the only possible recipients of the name could be an all-new range of motorcycles or a variant based on the Street Triple range.
The latter seems unlikely as a hardcore Tracker-style motorcycle based on the Street Triple range could dilute the brand, and Triumph wouldn’t want to risk it. So, the only motorcycle befitting of the Street Tracker name would be one of the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph bikes. We know that Bajaj and Triumph are working on two motorcycles, a street naked roadster and a scrambler, with different engine capacities. And, we believe the naked roadster could be named as the Triumph Street Tracker, while the dirt-focused version could be called the Street Scrambler.
Well, this is just our opinion. Whatever the official name would be, what we do know is that the Bajaj Triumph bikes are likely to be offered with two engine capacities – 250cc and 400cc. And according to our sources, Triumph will launch the 400s first in India, followed by the 250s. These new Bajaj Triumph bikes are in their final stages of development and testing and are likely to be launched in India in the last quarter of 2023.
