CS Santosh has moved up to the 38th position in the overall rankings after giving a stellar performance during the 10th stage of the 2015 Dakar Rally. The 30-year old was running in the 57th position during the middle of the 10th stage but progressed to the 36th place by the end of it, helping him boost his overall ranking from 42 to 38.
The 370-kilometre long stage took riders from Calama in Chile, to Cachi in Argentina. This was a marathon stage, which meant that the riders weren’t allowed to take any help from their support crews and all the maintenance of the motorcycles had to be done by the riders themselves.
Despite the exceptional performance in the 10th stage, the gap between Santosh and the race leader, Marc Coma, has widened to over 13 hours and 10 minutes.
The eleventh stage, which is the third last stage of the gruelling 9000-kilometre rally, will take the riders from Cachi to Termas Rio Hondo. The stage will be timed over a distance of 349 kilometres. Stay tuned to BikeWale for more news.
