We took a close look at the modified Ronin from Rajputana Customs in the previous story. And now, it’s time to check out the one from TVS Design Team. Dubbed the SCR, this custom-built Ronin is a completely different bike compared to the stock unit.
The SCR features a tall stance and gets proper dirt bike-like bodywork. The SCR retains a stock fuel tank with grips on both sides, a thick foam single-piece seat, a wide fuel tank, and twin upswept exhaust pipes.
It even gets new oval-shaped side panels which can also be the heatshield since the exhaust is placed right beside it. Not to mention, the SCR also gets a new paint scheme of silver all over with yellow stripes all around. Other changes like bar end mirrors and a new handlebar are also seen in this model.
The TVS Design team hasn’t revealed any details regarding the engine changes. But it’s likely to make slightly more power than the stock unit. For reference, in its factory settings, the TVS Ronin makes 20.1 bhp and 19.93Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. But with the addition of the new exhaust and its off-road purpose, it could benefit from a different state of tune.
Rajputana customs has also added an adjustable clutch and front brake levers, and a new projector LED headlight while the original LCD instrument console has been retained. The overall ergonomics seem to be altered since the handle is positioned toward the rider, it gets new footpegs and an upright stance as mentioned above.
To suffice its dirt-riding purpose, the SCR is equipped with a front beak, gets a sharper rake, and a new bash plate. Not to mention, the alloy wheels have made way for new spoked units and are wrapped in off-road tyres.
The stock front disc has made way for a new petal disc and even the chain and sprocket setup is new. For added utility, the SCR gets a tail rack too.
Overall, Rajputana Customs has completely transformed the stock cruiser-like bike into a thorough off-roader.
