In one of our previous stories, we talked about four custom-built TVS Ronins being unveiled at the MotoSoul 2023. And now, let’s take a look at Wakizashi, one of those four bikes.
This model has been built by Rajasthan-based Rajputana customs. The original design of the Ronin has been stripped down and quite a few aftermarket elements have made their way to the bike. For reference, the stock LED headlight is replaced by a halogen unit.
Even the wide handlebar that TVS uses for the Ronin is removed and a low set of clip-ons has been added. Further, Rajputana Customs has chopped down the rear seat, so Wakizashi only features a floating, single seat.
While the new fuel tank seems to get a slightly similar shape to the factory unit, it could be a little larger. The brushed finish is complemented well by a 3D badge and a new fuel lid too. Even the round instrument console from the stock bike is stripped off the Wakizashi.
The switch cube layout appears unaltered, but the brake and clutch levers are aftermarket and feature adjustable.
While the details regarding the engine updates are scarce, it’s the same 225cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor mated to a five-speed gearbox. TVS has tuned this mill to dish out 20.1 bhp and 19.93 Nm in its stock form.
Rajputana Customs has also added a different exhaust to its offering. It’s comparatively shorter than the factory unit and also appears to have a free flow.
While this custom-built Ronin too gets a monoshock, the unit appears to be different from the one TVS uses. So, the overall ride quality could vary as per the bike’s setup.
Last but not least, Wakizashi also gets new spoked wheels wrapped in larger Dunlop tyres. With all these mechanical tweaks, we expect the Wakizashi to handle completely differently than the stock TVS Ronin. Even the laid-back ride triangle has been altered and the Rajputana build bike would likely demand a committed riding posture, similar to that of a supersport.
