- To be held from January 6th to 17th
- Will be held in Peru only
- New rules will make race more interesting
The 2019 edition of the iconic Dakar rally will be held only in one country, Peru. The race will start from Lima and will finish at the same city.
This is the first time where the race will be held in one country only. The 2019 Dakar will be held between January 6 and 17 next year and is a looping 10-stage rally-route mapped around the Peruvian deserts. The organisers claim that the 2019 edition promises to be one of the sandiest in the history of the rally.
The organisers have come up with a few new rules for the upcoming edition. The competitors in the car and truck classes who drop out due to mechanical failures and injuries will be able to rejoin the race after a day’s rest. But they will compete in a different class called the Dakar semi-marathon, so as to not interfere with the main starting order.
