Daytona 675R is a lot more powerful and a potent track weapon than any of the 600s currently available in India. Triumph India, today launched this supersports bike along with nine others from their range. It has been priced at Rs 11.33 lakh.
Power to this fully-faired bike comes from a liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder engine with a capacity of 675cc. The unit delivers a maximum output of 126bhp at 1,2500rpm and 74Nm of torque at 11,900rpm. All these numbers add up to deliver a top speed of more than 220kmph. It also comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The swingarm is adjustable to personalise its handling according to ones riding style and conditions and Pirelli Dragon SuperCorsa tyres have been used for optimum performance and stronger grip.
This bike is new from tyre up. It comes with new bodywork, updated suspension, new brakes, and switchable ABS with a circuit mode. The R-bike, comes with Öhlins suspension front and rear, an electronic quickshifter and a splash of carbon fiber. Looking at these specifications, we can see how the makers have concentrated on the mass of the bike to increase its grip and agility so that corners can be taken at better angles. The wheels are lighter, and the bodywork is newer and sharper making the bike more agile and responsive.
MV Agusta F3, Yamaha R6, Suzuki GSXR600, CBR600RR, Kawasaki Ninja 636 is what it competes with globally, while in India, we feel it stands no threat from others in the 600cc category.
