- Aprilia RSV4 X limited to just 10 units
- Is more powerful and lighter than the standard RSV4
- Not arriving in India anytime soon
Aprilia has commenced deliveries of the RSV4 X in international markets. The track-only motorcycle is limited to just 10 units worldwide and costs GBP 40,000 (Rs 35.2 lakh).
The RSV4 X commemorates 10 years since the inception of the RSV4 model back in 2009. It has been built using components sourced from Aprilia’s WSBK and MotoGP machines. So it sports special equipment like the ANN (Aprilia No Neutral) gearbox which positions the neutral below the first gear which aids in faster shifts from first to second. Moreover, the RSV4 X is around 12kg lighter than the bike it is based on. This is thanks to the generous use of carbon fibre and billet aluminum components all around. The forged magnesium wheels sourced from Marchesini also contribute to making the RSV4 X lighter.
The RSV4 X is powered by a retuned and revised version of the 1078cc motor that does duty on the standard bike. This engine produces a massive 221.8bhp. It also sports a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, MotoGP-spec air filter, and a customized ECU. Putting a leash on all that power is a set of Brembo GP-4 MS calipers for the front and a single disc at the rear.
As tempting as it looks, the RSV4 X is unlikely to make its way to India anytime soon. Meanwhile, the Indian market is also waiting for the launch of the RSV4 1100 Factory which is expected to arrive by the end of this year.
