Suzuki recently launched the revised and face-lifted 2017 SV650 in Spain. Suzuki’s popular middle-weight motorcycle now has an angular body shape and many other updates.
The motorcycle has gone through a number of changes made to the engine and bike itself, notably to reduce weight, with the simple body styling. The 645cc V-twin engine gets new pistons and rings, along with a revised cooling system and exhaust, which bumps power up to 75bhp, an increase of 4bhp, while torque remains the same, it kicks in higher at 8,100rpm.
According to Suzuki, the new SV650 has 140 new or re-designed parts that help reduce the weight to 197kg, compared to the older model’s 205kg. The SV650 comes standard with ABS and a Euro-4 compliant exhaust. The other new feature on the bike is the single-push start button. It also come with low-rpm assist, a feature that eliminates engine stalling during low-speed pick up.
The 2017 Suzuki SV650 comes in four colours - Pearl Glacier White, Pearl Mira Red, Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Matte. If Suzuki India decided to launch the SV650 here, it will take on the Kawasaki ER-6n, Benelli TNT600i and the Hyosung GT650N.
