An updated version of the TVS Star City was spotted testing in Chennai. This new version is said to be named as Star City + and comes with added features looking quite similar to the one displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo.
TVS has changed the design language of the Star City and has borrowed traits from the Phoenix 125. This Star City +, as the name suggests (plus), gets extra features like the alloy wheels that can be clearly seen in the spy images. Apart from this, the motorcycle is expected to get electric start and a digital speedometer with service reminder and fuel economy indicator. The company says it has made changes to the seat making it more comfortable. Most of the components of this test bike are the same as the one exhibited at the Auto Expo except for the exhaust shield which is slightly different.
The Star City + will be powered by a revised 110cc DLI engine that produces 8.1bhp of power and 8.1Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. TVS Motor company has claimed the new Star City + to deliver a fuel economy of 83.9kmpl.
TVS might launch this revised version of the Star City soon in the Indian bike market and the updated motorcycle will go up against the Mahindra Centuro, Hero's new Passion XPro and the Honda Dream Yuga. Stay tuned to Bikewale as we will keep you updated with the upcoming launch.
