Mathana Kumar won both the Honda CBR250R category races in Round 2 of the one-make championship at the Madras Motor Race Track.
According to reports, drama ensued in Race 1 of the Open category after pole sitter Kishore VS retired on the opening lap on Saturday, as a result Kumar took victory beating Rajiv Sethu. Sethu took second after coming all the way from 10th on the grid. He was not the only one gaining places, S Sivanesan gained seven places to complete the podium, just managing to hold off front-row starter Ami Van Poederooijen by mere 0.208s.
In Race 2, Kumar doubled up with a second straight win over Abhishek and Sethu. Kumar won with a lead of over six seconds. However, Abhishek took second beating Sethu by a tiny lead of just 0.359s.
Along with the Open category of the Honda CBR250R one-make championship, there was also a 150cc Novice category race. In Race 1 of the 150cc Novice category, Piyush Ranjan won from Shreyas Sannake and Anish Shetty who took second and third respectively. However, Race 2 saw Shetty taking a close win from Soorya with Mahesh Murali taking third to complete the podium.
