Ducati has finally revealed their latest creation, the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition. This exclusive motorcycle has been developed to celebrate the legendary brand before it is replaced with the upcoming V4 motorcycle.
The 1299 Panigale R Final Edition has been heavily inspired from the Superleggera, however, isn’t packed with carbon fibre like the Superleggera is. The motor on this final edition is from the 1299 Superleggera, so the power figure is the same mind boggling 209bhp and 142Nm. It features a lighter crankshaft with a larger crank pin and tungsten balancing pads, while the con-rods, like the intake-exhaust valves, are made of titanium. As on superbike engines, the two 116 mm diameter pistons have just two segments and slide on steel cylinder liners. The Italian tricolour livery is eye-catching and quite exquisite.
The chassis set-up is the same as the Panigale R. The Final Edition has an aluminium monocoque structure from the R that uses the engine as a stressed member. The suspension department features an Ohlins USD forks, a TTX36 monoshock and an adjustable steering damper. The rest of the kit is top notch too with Brembo M50 monobloc calipers, three-spoke forged alloy wheels and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres. In terms of features, just like the other Ducatis, this bike is loaded with many. Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Quick Shifter (DQS), Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Braking System (EBC).
The Italian manufacturer will showcase the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition at the World Superbike Championship race at Laguna Seca this weekend. The deliveries of the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition in India will begin in September this year. The pricing of this exclusive Ducati will be revealed in the next few weeks.
