Deliveries for the Ducati 959 Panigale which is the brand’s new ‘baby superbike’ are said to begin from next month in India. Ducati had unveiled the 899 Panigale replacement at the India Bike Week 2016.
Although it doesn’t appear much different, the 959 Panigale has been thoroughly worked up with heaps of performance tweaks. Spearheading the upgrades is the new 955cc V-twin which is among the first of the Superquadro engines from Ducati to clear Euro-4 emission norms. The engine puts out 157bhp – around 9bhp more than the outgoing 899 Panigale. Ducati, however, in its quest to clear Euro-4 regulations has had to put massive shotgun-style twin exhausts instead of the underbelly unit.
Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India Pvt Ltd said, "We will start selling the 959 next month and we have started taking bookings. We have received tremendous response in the market for this entry level sports bike. Ultimately our aim is to bring majority of the Ducati bikes that available in the global market to India.”
Just like rest of the Ducatis, the 959 Panigale is loaded with some incredible electronics like the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Riding Mode technology including Ride-by-Wire, triple-stage Bosch ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC).
