- Gets improved suspension and stronger wheels
- Features a new livery
- Unveiled in the international market
Ducati has unveiled the latest version of the Desert X in the international market. It’s called the Desert X Rally and has been upgraded on the mechanical front over the standard model. Here’s what the Desert X Rally gets.
Ducati has upgraded the new model with a front mudguard. It has replaced the stock unit with a new one, much similar to what we see on dirt bikes. Then, the two-piece seat, too, has made way for a new single-piece unit. One of the major changes comes in the form of a new suspension setup. The Desert X Rally rides on new 48mm KYB closed-cartridge forks with adjustable compression and rebound. This has also led to an increase in the overall travel by 20mm at both ends. So, the front suspension now gets 250mm travel and the rear end gets 240mm.
Elsewhere, the Desert X Rally has been equipped with new central-set spoked wheels from Excel Takasago. These are 500 grams lighter and stronger for better off-roading capabilities. The 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels continue to use Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
That said, Ducati has draped the Desert X Rally in a new livery called the Iron Giant livery. It includes a red and white paint scheme all over with a black front fender and rear subframe. Apart from that, the electronics package remains unchanged.
Ducati has only unveiled the new Desert X Rally in the international market as of now. We expect the Italian brand to bring the new ADV variant to India as well very soon. And with the list of updates, you can expect the Rally trim to cost more than the standard Desert X, which is currently priced at Rs. 17,91,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
