Ducati recently unveiled the most touring-focused Discovery variant of the DesertX. The motorcycle gets a host of changes over other variants of the bike which make it a more apt mile muncher. In that case, let’s check out what these changes are and gawk at the stunning pictures of the bike from Ducati’s official gallery.
Visually differentiating the Discovery from the variants is the special paint scheme which is a vibrant combination of red and white with some blacked-out components.
Other more purposeful inclusions are reinforced hand guards and engine guards, and an aluminium sump guard.
What further add to its touring prowess are heated grips, a taller visor, a centre stand, and aluminium panniers.
Just like the DesertX Rally, the Discovery trim sports a 21-litre fuel tank which is slightly larger than the standard trim. You can also carry an additional 8-litre fuel tank for an increased riding range.
Powering the bike is the same 937cc, L-twin engine that does duty on the rest of the variants. This unit produces 108bhp at 9,250rpm and 92Nm of peak torque.
Typical of a Ducati, it comes equipped with a host of electronic aids such as ride modes, power modes, wheelie control, engine brake control, a bi-directional quick shifter, cruise control, and more.
The 21-17-inch wheel combination rides on USD front forks and a KYB monoshock at the rear, both being fully adjustable. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a dual 320mm front and a single 265mm rear disc.
