- New Ducati DesertX India launch on 12 December, 2022
- Powered by a 937cc L-Twin engine
- Features off-road focussed hardware
Ducati India will update its portfolio with the launch of the new DesertX adventure-tourer in our market on 12 December, 2022. This new product will rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and the Honda Africa Twin in India.
The motorcycle is already available in several international markets. It shares its 937cc, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine with the Ducati Monster and Multistrada V2. However, Ducati claims that it has reworked the engine to make it lighter and more efficient. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to produce 110bhp at 9,250rpm and 92Nm at 6,500rpm on the DesertX.
Meanwhile, the feature list on the India-bound model, similar to the international-spec version, will include full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT display, six riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Rally, and Enduro), four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low), cruise control, Bosch IMU, engine brake control, traction control, wheelie control, bidirectional quickshifter, and cornering ABS.
The styling is very similar to the concept motorcycle that was revealed in 2019. Thus, the DesertX gets a twin-pod headlight, a tall windscreen, a semi-fairing design, a 21-litre fuel tank, split-style seats, side-slung exhaust, bash plate, and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels. Ducati will offer a wide range of optional accessories to further customise the motorcycle.
