Ducati India has confirmed via its social media handles that the BS6-compliant Diavel 1260 will arrive on our shores soon. While we await more information about the power-cruiser, here we tell you what to expect from the upcoming Ducati Diavel 1260 BS6.
Engine
The BS6 model will continue to use a 1,262cc, L-twin, Testastretta engine that comes linked to a six-speed gearbox. Despite complying with the newest emission norms, the motor will continue to deliver 157.3bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 129Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. A bidirectional quick-shifter will be available as an optional extra.
Design
The styling cues will remain similar to its predecessor, and the BS6-compliant model will retain the sleek headlight, a muscular fuel tank, radiator shrouds, under-cowl, compact exhaust canister, single-sided swingarm, and tyre hugger mounted numberplate. Internationally, the motorcycle is available in two variants – standard and S. The colour options include Dark Stealth for the standard model while the S variant is available in Ducati Red. We expect to see both variants on our shores.
Features
The electronic rider aids on the motorcycle work with a six-axis IMU and it comprises cornering ABS, traction control, riding modes, power modes, launch control, wheelie control, and cruise control system. The feature list includes full-LED lighting and a Ducati Multimedia System-ready 3.5-inch colour TFT display.
Hardware
The hardware on the standard model includes 50mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the suspension tasks. The braking setup on the base model uses Brembo M4.32 callipers. The S variant, on the other hand, benefits from a more premium, Ohlins-sourced suspension and Brembo M50 monobloc callipers.
Price
The BS6 model could carry a price premium over its predecessor, and could arrive in the Rs 18-19 lakh (ex-showroom, India) range.
