We recently got fortunate enough to sample one of the most exotic Italian motorcycles, the Ducati Diavel 1260 S. The power cruiser truly wooed us by some of its traits like the marvellous design, manic performance and a beasty exhaust note. While you can read our first ride review of the motorcycle here, below are some of its stunning pictures for you to drool over.
The Diavel 1260 S carries an abundance of road presence, thanks to its radical-looking low-slung headlamp cluster, bulbous fuel tank and extensions, a floating-style seat and the wide rear tyre.
Contrasting its black coloured body panels are the golden upside down forks and red frame which give an additional flair to its design.
Once astride the bike, you’ll be greeted by a unique low and commanding riding stance. Although it's heavy at 244kg, all that weight disappears while on the move and it feels light on its feet.
The real party piece here is the 1262cc, L-twin Testastretta DVT engine which makes the Diavel a 157bhp/129Nm hooligan. Its six-speed gearbox is assisted by a bi-directional quick shifter.
Accompanying its behemoth of an engine are the premium cycle parts which are found on Ducati’s sportsbikes. There are fully-adjustable Ohlins at both ends while braking is handled by Brembo M50 calipers at the front.
For keeping the rider safe, the Diavel packs ample of electronic wizardry in the form of traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, three-level launch control and three riding modes – Urban, Touring and Sport.
All the aforementioned features can be tweaked through a 3.5-inch full-colour TFT display which shows a plethora of information and gets Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone pairing.
The Ducati Diavel 1260 S we rode was a BS4 model which was pegged at Rs 19.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated BS6-compliant version is likely to come soon in new colours and with a price hike.
