-Ducati Diavel 1260 to make its way to India tomorrow, 9 August
-Receives mechanical and cosmetic changes
-Expected to demand a premium of around a lakh over the current model
Ducati is scheduled to launch the Diavel 1260 in India tomorrow, 9 August. The bike was globally unveiled at the 2018 EICMA and receives cosmetic as well as mechanical changes as compared to the previous-gen Diavel. In terms of design, the Diavel 1260 sports the same muscular styling of the outgoing model. However, it now gets a meaner and more aggressive appeal.
The Diavel 1260 comes powered by a 1262cc, L-twin motor that is tuned to deliver 157bhp of power and 129Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also gets various riding modes, cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and cruise control.
Furthermore, it sports a 3.5-inch TFT colour display that is Bluetooth enabled. Suspension duties are handled by adjustable 50mm inverted forks for the front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is taken care of by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. Ducati is also likely to offer an 'S' variant which gets higher-spec braking and suspension hardware sourced from Brembo and Ohlins respectively.
The manufacturer is expected to price the Diavel 1260 at a premium of around Rs 1-1.5 lakhs over the current model which costs Rs 16.15 lakhs. In terms of competition, it will go against the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob.
