Ducati recently launched its latest power cruiser in India, the Diavel V4. While the Diavel name has been in the Italian stable for a long time, it now gets the V4 treatment just like other models. Let’s take a look at what the new Ducati Diavel V4 has to offer.
On the design front, the Diavel looks muscular, brawny and big, like every other power cruiser. That said, it gets a new headlight setup compared to the predecessor. The Diavel V4’s unit packs a trio of vertically stacked LED projectors surrounded by LED DRLs.
This setup is flanked by large air intakes on both sides and helps in dissipating the air away. Its exit ports are located below the tank. Right below the air intakes are sharp shrouds that also double up as partial radiator covers.
It gets a floating rear seat which is covered by a cowl. The latter is removable and covers the seat. Right below it are the neatly tucked pillion footpegs. Similar to the previous model, the Diavel V4 also gets a single side-mounted rear tyre hugger that integrates the rear turn indicators as well the number plate.
Powering the new Ducati is a 1,158cc, V4 Granturismo mill that dishes out 168bhp at 10,750rpm and 126Nm at 7,500rpm. This motor also acts as the stressed member of the new aluminium monocoque frame. Moreover, Ducati claims that the new V4 motor will need a valve clearance after 60,000km which is notably higher than the V2 motor. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Ducati has equipped the Diavel V4 with rider aids like a bi-directional quickshifter, power launch, cruise control, cornering ABS, traction control system, wheelie control, ride modes and more. Meanwhile, the feature list comprises LED illumination, a five-inch colour TFT with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, SMS, calls, and music control.
The Diavel V4 rides on 50mm fully adjustable USD front forks and a fully adjustable monoshock. It continues to employ a single-sided swingarm. The braking hardware consists of dual 330mm front discs and a single 265mm rear disc with Brembo callipers.
It comes with 17-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 240/45 rear Diablo Ross 3 tyres which are road-oriented. The Diavel V4 gets a 20-litre fuel tank capacity.
Ducati India offers the Diavel V4 in two paint schemes: Ducati Red and Thrilling Black.
The asking price for the Diavel V4 is set at Rs. 25.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). That’s about Rs. 4 lakh more than the Diavel 1260.
