- This bike marks the end of Ducati’s V-twin Superquadro powerplant
- The last batch of motorcycles has rolled out of factory
- Each model bears its number and certificate of authenticity for the owner
Ducati has announced that the production of the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition has been stopped as the last batch of motorcycles have rolled out of its factory in Bologna, Italy.
The Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition marks the end of the company’s V-twin engine that has been replaced by a new four-cylinder motor used on the Panigale V4 superbikes. The company had announced that only 1299 units of the motorcycle will be made, each bearing its number and certificate of authenticity for the customer.
The 1299 Panigale R Final Edition wears the Ducati’s unique Tricolore livery and gets components derived from the WSBK homologation special bike – the 1199 Panigale R. Powered by a 1299cc, L-twin, Superquadro mill, it churns out 206bhp of power and 142Nm of torque. It features intake-exhaust valves made up of titanium along with a larger crankshaft and crank pin.
With the titanium exhaust from Akrapovic and Ohlins suspension setup, the motorcycle is extremely light, weighing just 190kg on kerb. It is crammed with high-end electronics which include power modes, traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, engine braking control, a quick-shifter along with a six-axis IMU.
In India, the Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition has been priced at Rs 51.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and only a few units have been allotted for our country.
