The Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP is the top-spec version of an absolutely mental motorcycle. The SP is lighter than the Hypermotard RVE while also packing better equipment. Here are the top five highlights of the bike.
Design
The bike looks purposeful in every sense of the word. From the high mount headlight, prominent beak, slim fuel tank and a short tail section. The exposed trellis frame and subframe adds to the visual appeal of the bike. What also sets it apart from the rest of the Hypermotard variants is the special paint scheme and carbon fibre parts.
Features
Ducati has equipped the bike with a lot of features. The list includes ride modes, cornering ABS, quickshifter, traction control and a much required wheelie control.
Engine
Powering the Hypermotard 950 SP is a 937cc, L-twin engine that makes 114bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine is known for its sprightly performance and punchy midrange. It gives the Hypermotard a mad streak that makes the bike the hooligan that it is.
Hardware
The steel trellis frame of the bike is suspended by an Ohlins USD fork and an Ohlins monoshock. Both of these suspension units are adjustable. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. Braking duties, meanwhile, are taken care of by two 320mm front discs and a 245mm disc at the rear.
Price
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP is priced at Rs 19.05 lakh, ex-showroom.
