- Features fully adjustable Ohlins suspension
- Gets Marchesini forged alloy wheels
- New SP paint scheme and graphics
Ducati has listed the Hypermotard 950 SP on its India website. The motorcycle is priced in India at Rs. 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the second model in the Hypermotard 950 line-up after the RVE.
Compared to the standard model, the Ducati Hypermotard SP features a special paint scheme, carbon fibre parts, and higher-spec hardware. It features top-spec components such as fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and Marchesini forged alloy wheels.
The suspension setup includes 48mm Ohlins USD forks with 185mm travel and an Ohlins monoshock with 175mm travel. The Hypermotard 950 RVE, meanwhile, gets a Marzocchi and Sachs setup at the front and rear, respectively. However, one downside of this setup is that the seat height has increased by 20mm to an intimidating 890mm. It also gets stickier Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres instead of the Pirelli Rosso 3 units on the Hypermotard 950 RVE.
Appearance-wise, the Hypermotard 950 SP gets a new paint scheme and graphics. Otherwise, the motorcycle remains unchanged visually. Powering the bike is a 937cc, L-twin engine that makes 114bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The Testastretta engine is seen on various Ducati models including the DesertX and the SuperSport S, but features the highest tune on the Hypermotard.
The Hypermotard 950 is a maniac motorcycle in the RVE trim and we expect the SP to be even more explosive with its premium componentry.
