-Ducati Multistrada and Scrambler to get a new variant
-Likely to continue with current engines
-To be unveiled at the 2020 Ducati World Premiere in October
Ducati is working on a new Multistrada 1260 and Scrambler model, a leaked document from the US Environmental Protection Agency has revealed.
The new Multistrada model is listed as the ‘Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour’. The documents also reveal that the bike will be powered by the same 1262cc L-Twin motor that churns out 158bhp, but that’s all the official information there is. However, the ‘Grand Tour’ name reveals more on the bike's purpose. We can expect Ducati to equip the motorcycle with features like a taller windscreen, panniers, top box and auxiliary lights as standard. Moreover, the Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour could also offer a more comfortable seat along with some other knick-knacks that would add to its touring-focused character.
On the other hand, the upcoming Scrambler model is called the 2020 Scrambler Icon Dark. And as its name suggests, it is likely to sport a matte-black paint in contrast to the bright orange and yellow colours that are offered on the standard Scrambler Icon. Besides the dark-themed colour scheme, the Scrambler Icon Dark will remain the same mechanically.
Ducati will unveil the Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour and the Scrambler Icon Dark at the 2020 Ducati World Premiere on 23 October. The two bikes are sure to arrive in India and we can expect the Italian manufacturer to launch them in the country sometime in 2020.
