The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is expected to go on sale in India in August. A dual-sport bike targeted at off-road enthusiasts, the Desert Sled will be the fifth Scrambler variant to be launched in India.
The Scrambler Desert Sled carries forward the versatile and practical approach of the Scrambler range. Bits like the minimalistic bodywork, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres and the upswept exhaust give the bike a rugged character. The adjustable front forks offer 7.9 inches of suspension travel which should boost its off-roading capabilities. Powering the Desert Sled is the same 803cc air-cooled L-twin engine which delivers 74bhp and 68Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
The Scrambler has proven to be a success worldwide and has even made a good impact in the Indian market. The Desert Sled is another attempt by Ducati to take advantage of the Scrambler platform and provide a bike to match the personality and needs of every kind of rider. Apart from the Desert Sled, Ducati is also planning to launch four more models in India this year and double its sales over the next two years.
