- Celebrates 25 years of Monster
- Limited to 500 units
- Features tricolore livery inspired by the Monster S4RS Testastretta
Ducati has unveiled the special edition Monster 1200 25 Anniversario to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Monster range. The motorcycle will be built in a limited production run of just 500 units.
The Monster 1200 25 Anniversario, as the name suggests, is based on the flagship model of the streetfighter range, the Monster 1200. It is painted in a unique livery featuring colours from the Italian flag, inspired by the 2008 Monster S4RS Testastretta Tricolore. It rides on lightweight gold-coloured Marchesini forged rims. Each motorcycle gets a plaque on the frame, denoting the serial number among the 500 units produced. Even the seat gets a special logo embroidered onto it. Propelling the Monster 1200 25 Anniversario is an 1198cc Testastretta L-twin engine, delivering 144bhp and 124Nm of torque. The engine is mated to six-speed transmission with a bi-directional quickshifter.
The Ducati Monster M900 was first unveiled at the 1992 Cologne Motor Show, and went on sale in 1993. Since then, Ducati has rolled out more than 3.25 lakh motorcycles. The motorcycle has somehow managed to evolve over time to keep up with the competition, while staying true to its roots. We expect a handful of the Ducati Monster 1200 25 Anniversario to be sold in India, for a premium of over Rs 25 lakhs.
