With the government dropping custom duty on CBU motorcycles, Ducati has slashed the prices of the Monster 1200 range and the Panigale R. There is a drop of 15 per cent in the ex-showroom prices of the four models.
With these cuts, the Monster 1200 prices have been dropped from Rs 23.40 lakhs to Rs 20.10 lakhs. The Monster 1200 S now retails at Rs 24.63 lakhs, which is Rs 4.05 lakhs lesser than before. If you want this bike in grey, that would cost you an additional lakh. The Panigale R Final Edition on the other hand, will set you back by a whopping Rs 51.82 lakhs. Nevertheless, it represents savings of Rs 8.57 lakhs over the previous price.
The tax sops have only affected prices of the Monster 1200 range and the Panigale R Final Edition as these are the only Ducati motorcycles to be imported from Italy as completely built units. The rest of the range is imported from Thailand, which already gives them the benefit of lower taxes. While BMW Motorrad has already reduced prices to reflect the tax cuts, we can expect other manufacturers to follow suit.
