The new Ducati Monster 1200 will go on sale from March of this year and has been priced at 13, 490 Euros (Rs 11.39 lakh). It was unveiled at the EICMA in late November and is the flagship of the Monster range from the Italian two-wheeler major.
The Monster 1200 is powered by a 1200cc liquid cooled engine that produces 135bhp and 118Nm of torque. It has been mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. This engine dubbed the Testastretta is the same one found in the Diavel and has pretty much the same power figures.
Its new features include Bremo brakes, hydraulic clutch, ride by wire and to better aid the rider a TFT display. There is also a higher spec Monster 1200S which features Ohlins suspension, carbon fibre parts and an increased output of 145bhp.
Reports suggest that Ducati has already started production of the bikes and that it has been priced at 13, 490 Euros (Rs 11.39 lakh) Euros for the Monster 1200 and 15, 990 Euros (13.50 lakh) for the Monster 1200 S.
