Ducati Monster SP India launch details revealed

- Likely to be priced at Rs. 15.95 lakh

- Gets premium hardware

- India launch on 2 May, 2023

Ducati India has confirmed that it will launch the Monster SP in our market on 2 May, 2023. The company had previously released a teaser image of this upcoming motorcycle on its social media handles. Notably, most details about this variant of the Monster range, along with its tentative pricing are listed on Ducati India’s website. The company has confirmed that this motorcycle will arrive at a tentative ex-showroom, India price tag of Rs. 15.95 lakh. However, the actual price will be available at launch.

The SP badge brings premium hardware to the Ducati Monster. The suspension hardware, for example, includes Ohlins-sourced NIX 43mm upside-down front forks and an Ohlins rear monoshock – both fully adjustable. Then, the braking includes twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema monoblock four-piston callipers at the front and a single 245mm rotor with Brembo two-piston calliper at the back. The 17-inch wheels are shod in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.

This version also gets a dual-tone paint theme along with a passenger seat cowl. Meanwhile, the overall design of the SP variant is similar to the standard model. The mechanical specifications, too, are identical to the standard model. Thus, the SP variant will use a 937cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that will deliver 109.9bhp at 9,250rpm and 93Nm at 6,500rpm.

The feature list comprises full-LED lighting, a 4.3-inch colour TFT display, a launch control system, a USB socket, a lithium-ion battery, three ride modes (Sport, Road, and Wet), cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, power modes, and a quick-shifter. Meanwhile, buyers can further add the Ducati Multimedia System and heated grips via the optional accessories.

The Ducati Monster range rivals the likes of the Triumph Street Triple range, Kawasaki Z900, and BMW F 900 R in the Indian market. The competition is likely to extend with the arrival of the Yamaha MT-09 which is expected to arrive in our market very soon.
