- Powered by a 973cc twin-cylinder motor
- Gets Ohlins suspension at both ends
- To cost a premium over the standard model
Ducati has taken the wraps off its latest streetfighter model, the Monster SP. It’s based on the standard model but packs a bunch of new equipment that makes it fiercer. Let’s take a close look at the new Ducati Monster SP.
The Monster SP gets the same compact design as the base model. It features a projector LED headlamp with an LED DRL around it. But the SP receives a new paint scheme inspired by Ducati’s MotoGP bike. It’s draped in red and black and also equipped with a Termignoni exhaust end can.
Powering the new Ducati Monster SP is a 973cc twin-cylinder motor with the output rated at 111bhp and 93Nm. The engine is nestled in an aluminum frame and mated to a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter. Backing the firepower is a list of rider aids that Ducati has employed on the new Monster. It gets riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and power modes too.
The Ducati Monster SP features a 4.3-inch TFT display, a launch control system, a USB socket, and a lithium-ion battery. Meanwhile, the underpinnings comprise Ohlins front and rear shocks, Brembo braking hardware and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.
Ducati is yet to launch the new Monster SP in India and we expect it to happen soon. The SP will cost a notable premium compared to the base model’s asking price of Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
