Ducati had unveiled Multistrada 950 at the EICMA Show in Italy. A scaled down version of the Multistrada 1200, the Multistrada 950 is expected to go on sale in India in August.
The Multistrada 950 borrows the trellis frame and major styling cues from the Multistrada 1200. However, exotic bits like the single-sided swingarm have been ditched in favour of conventional cost-effective components. Powering the Multistrada 950 is a 937cc Testastretta L-twin engine from the Hypermotard 939. It gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, which ride on KYB 49mm inverted forks and a Sachs monoshock respectively. It gets a comprehensive electronics package with riding modes, traction control and ABS.
The Multistrada 950 is expected to go on sale in August with a price tag of around Rs 11.5 lakh. Like its bigger sibling, the Multistrada 950 is globally available in multiple trims - Touring, Sport, Urban and Enduro. However we expect only a couple of these to be launched here. The Multistrada 950 will rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and the Suzuki V-Strom.
