The Ducati Multistrada Enduro has been launched in India at Rs 17.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). A decked up version of the standard Multistrada 1200S, the Multistrada Enduro is Rs 40,000 more expensive that the litre-class adventure touring motorcycle.
One of the most capable adventure touring motorcycles that you can buy, the Multistrada Enduro gets a comprehensive set of technical and mechanical updates to boost its off-road capabilities. It rides on rugged wire spoke wheels, with the front end getting a bigger 19-inch rim. The front ‘beak’ of the bike has been extended to match the larger tyre. Knobbly Pirelli tyres improve its off-road capabilities. It also gets aluminium side panels to give the bike a rugged look, while the fuel tank capacity has been raised to 30 litres. The wheelbase has been increased by 27mm while the suspension travel has been raised from 170mm to 200mm. It also comes with LED cornering lights which illuminate the road on corner entry and a vehicle hold control system that engages the brake to simplify uphill starts.
The Multistrada Enduro is powered by a 1198cc Testastretta DVT L-twin engine, which delivers 160bhp and 136Nm of torque. The engine gets ride-by-wire throttle with rider modes and the electronics package has been carried over from the Multistrada 1200S. The Multistrada 1200 Enduro rivals other litre-class bikes like the Triumph Tiger Explorer, Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally and the BMW R1200 GS.
