- To replace the Multistrada 950
- Will be available in two variants
- Likely to come with an increase in price
The Ducati Multistrada V2 is scheduled to make its debut its India on 25 April, after being globally introduced in October 2021. The adventure-touring motorcycle is a replacement for the Multistrada 950 but is quite similar to the latter.
To start off, the styling is identical. Inspired by the Multistrada 1260, the Multi V2 also gets a distinctive front end that sport flared air-intakes and twin full-LED headlamps. It also comes with a large fuel tank and windscreen to complete its touring character. And similar to the Multistrada 950, the V2 will also be available in two variants- standard and S.
Powering the Multistrada V2 is the same 937cc, Testastretta motor that churns out 111.5bhp like the Multi 950. However, the torque has increased from 94Nm to 96Nm for the Multistrada V2. Ducati has also reduced the weight of the V2 making it 5kg lighter than the 950.
That said, the electronic rider aids remain the same as before. The Multistrada V2 is equipped with cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Vehicle Hold Control, and four riding modes- Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro. The top-spec S variant, benefits from Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system, Ducati Cornering Lights, Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down, a five-inch colour TFT display, a cruise control system and backlit handlebar controls as standard.
Nonetheless, we expect Ducati to price the Multistrada V2 higher than the 950 which is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom. It will take on the newly launched BMW F900 XR and the Tiger 900 in the country.
