Ducati India recently updated its portfolio by launching the new Multistrada V2. The middle-weight touring machine is the successor to the Multistrada 950 but is five kilograms lighter. And you can read all about it here. Now, the bike is available in three variants priced between Rs 14.65 and Rs 16.84 lakh (ex-showroom). In case you’re open to considering its alternatives with a similar price tag, here are your options.
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250
Priced nearly the same as the top-end variant of the Multistrada V2, the Pan America offers a much bigger and more powerful 1,252cc, twin-cylinder engine that generates 150bhp and 127Nm. It’s also loaded with electronic goodies like an electronically adjustable semi-active suspension setup, tyre pressure monitoring system, heated grips, steering damper, and an industry-first Adaptive Ride Height (optional) system.
The Honda Africa Twin is another option for those who want to go off the beaten path, take the treacherous terrain, and explore some wilderness, besides munching miles on the highway. It’s available with a manual gearbox and a seamless-to-use DCT option both of which come mated to a 97.89bhp, 1,082cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine. With a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and multiple riding modes, the Africa Twin is almost as well equipped as the Pan America 1250.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
If going fast is your first priority, then the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R should claim a spot in your garage. This litre-class supersport is a proper track tool in the guise of a road-legal motorcycle. Propelling the 10R is a 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine that churns out 200.21bhp and 114.9Nm. There’s no dearth of electronic aids here also as it packs launch control, cornering ABS, and engine brake control, just to name a few.
