- To get a 1,158cc V4 engine
- Will produce 168bhp and 125Nm
- To feature rear bank deactivation feature for better economy
Ducati has released the power and torque output numbers for its upcoming sports tourer motorcycle, the Multistrada V4.
The new V4 powered Multistrada will adopt the counter-rotating crankshaft – a technology that it will borrow from MotoGP. Christened as the V4 Granturismo, the engine will feature 1,158cc of displacement, a 90-degree liquid-cooled V-layout, and a compression ratio of 14:1. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the motor will produce 168bhp at 10,000rpm and 125Nm at 8,750rpm. The gearbox will benefit from the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up & Down System. The V4 Granturismo will come with a heavy maintenance interval of 60,000km.
The engine features the crankpins offset at 70-degree which the company claims deliver a unique and captivating sound. The V4 Granturismo also adopts a mechanism to deactivate the rear bank to improve the overall heat comfort and reduce fuel consumption.
The new Ducati Multistrada V4, which has already entered production, will be officially presented on 4 November 2020.
