Ducati has launched its flagship adventure-touring motorcycle, the Multistrada V4 in India. It competes against the big guns in the segment like the BMW R 1250 GS and the Honda Africa Twin CRF1100L in our country. Before we tell you how the Multistrada V4 fares against its rivals, we tell you all that you need to know about the motorcycle.
Styling
The designers from the Bologna-based factory have styled the Multistrada V4 on the same lines as the rest of the Multistrada family. So it gets split-LED headlamps, a large fuel tank, split seats and the signature styling for the tail lamps. However, with a few nips and tucks here and there, the Multistrada V4 looks relatively more sharper and meaner. Ducati has also revised the proportion on the V4 compared to the Multistrada 1260 to ensure that it is more compact.
Performance
While the styling isn’t starkly different, the heart of this Multistrada surely is. Introduced to take over the reins from the 1260, the Multistrada V4 comes powered by the 90-degree, V4 ‘Granturismo’ liquid-cooled engine that churns out a 168bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 125Nm of torque at 8750rpm.
Features
Being a flagship motorcycle comes with its own set of perks- like an exhaustive list of features. Ducati has decked the Multistrada V4 with riding modes, cornering ABS, wheelie control and traction control. While the Multistrada V4 gets a 5-inch colour TFT display, the V4 S offers a 6.5-inch display with Ducati Connect. The S version also gets a quick-shifter as standard.
Hardware
The suspension hardware on the front end of the Multistrada V4 is done by 50mm fully-adjustable forks while the rear is looked after by a monoshock; also fully-adjustable. However, the V4 S gets Ducati’s electronically-adjustable Skyhook suspension at both ends. Braking duties on the top-spec model are handled by Brembo M50 Stylema calipers with 330mm discs up front whereas the V4 gets 320mm discs for the front with Brembo monobloc calipers. Nevertheless, both models get a 265mm disc at the rear.
Pricing
Ducati has priced the Multistrada V4 at Rs 18.99 lakh while the Multistrada V4S with its additional equipment and features will set you back by Rs 23.10 lakh.
