Ducati India has confirmed via its social media handles that the Multistrada V4 will be launched on our shores in July 2021. The latest iteration of the adventure tourer will rival the BMW R 1250 GS. The latter is scheduled to enter the Indian market on 8 July, 2021. Here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound Ducati Multistrada V4.
Variants
Ducati offers three variants of the Multistrada V4 (Standard, V4 S, and V4 S Sport) in the international markets. The Indian arm of the Italian two-wheeler maker will offer two variants of the adventure tourer in our market – Standard and V4 S. Ducati India dealerships had commenced the pre-bookings for the motorcycle in April this year.
Engine
Both variants of the adventure tourer will use the same 1,158cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the motor produces 168bhp of maximum power at 10,000rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. The oil change interval is scheduled every 15,000km. A valve clearance check and eventual adjustment are required every 60,000km.
Design
The new Multistrada V4 series retains the overall silhouette of its predecessor. Ducati claims that the new Multistrada V4 gets revised proportions and compactness to favour the combination of form and function. The feature list on the Multistrada V4 series include a twin-pod headlight, a semi-fairing, an adjustable windscreen, a 22-litre fuel tank, split-style seats, and side-slung exhaust. The motorcycle series uses an aluminium monocoque frame, a 19-inch front wheel, and a double-sided swingarm.
Features
The electronic package on the Multistrada V4, which works with the inertial platform (IMU), includes ABS Cornering, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). The more premium Multistrada V4 S variant further benefits from Cornering Lights (DCL), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), and the electronically adjustable, semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) control system with Autoleveling function. A front and rear radar system on the motorcycle allows the use of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).
Expected Price
The new Multistrada V4 should carry a price hike over its predecessor, and we expect the adventure tour to arrive in the Rs 20,00,000-22,00,000 (ex-showroom) price range.
