- Gets Akrapovic exhaust system
- Uses 17-inch wheels on both ends
- Features a single-sided swingarm
The upcoming Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak edition has revealed itself through a spy photograph, giving a detailed look at the hardware on the motorcycle.
For starters, the Pikes Peak edition of the Multistrada V4 will feature 17-inch wheels on both ends instead of a 19-inch unit on the standard model. Moreover, the Pikes Peak model will feature a single-sided swingarm instead of a twin-sided unit that is seen on the standard Multistrada V4. The spy image also gives a glimpse at the Akrapovic exhaust system. Do note that the Multistrada V4 S Sport, too, uses an Akrapovic exhaust.
Keeping the previous Pikes Peak model as a reference, the new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, too, should use the manually adjustable Ohlins-sourced suspension setup instead of the electronic unit on the S model. The Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak, for reference, used the performance-oriented Ohlins front forks and TTX36 rear monoshock. Other features on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak should include unique graphics, carbon fibre body panels, a sportier windscreen, and forged aluminium wheels.
The underpinnings and engine should remain similar to the standard Multistrada V4. The standard model is powered by a 1,158cc, 90-degree V-layout, four-cylinder engine that produces 168bhp at 10,000rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. Expect to see similar power and torque output numbers from the Pikes Peak edition as well.
We expect the electronic rider aids to retain cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), and Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL).
