Ducati India has announced the indicative prices of nine motorcycles that will be launched in our market over the course of this year. The list includes the new variant of the company’s flagship adventure tourer motorcycle, the Multistrada V4 Rally. This motorcycle gets several updates over the standard version and here we tell you what to expect from the Indian launch of the new Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally.
Design
The overall styling cues are similar to the standard Multistrada V4, and the Rally edition retains design elements such as a twin-pod headlight, beak-style front fender, semi-fairing, split-style seat, and a tall-set exhaust. However, the Rally variant comes standard with tubeless-tyre compatible spoke rims and reinforced engine guards. Further, this variant gets a bigger, 30-litre fuel tank for a longer range than the standard model. Ducati has also lengthened the tail section to offer more space to the pillion and added thicker rubber for the pegs to reduce vibrations. In addition, a centre stand comes as standard and it helps while loading and unloading the side cases or during maintenance. Internationally, the motorcycle is available in two colours – Ducati Red and Brushed Aluminium with Matte Black. The details about the colour options for the India-bound model are not available yet.
Features
This model also gets revision to the feature list and the Rally variant benefits from added tech. The electronic suspension setup, for example, brings a minimum preload function that lowers the motorcycle when stopping. Then, the Multistrada V4 Rally further benefits from the easy lift function which is aimed to reduce the effort required while lifting the motorcycle from the side stand. This variant also gets the front and rear radar system to support functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). Other electronic rider safety features include four ride modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro), cornering ABS, cornering lights, wheelie control, and traction control. Other features include full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display.
Engine
The Rally version retains the 1,158cc, Granturismo V4, liquid-cooled engine from the standard model and the motor continues to make 167.6bhp at 10,750rpm and 121Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. However, Ducati has updated its cylinder deactivation system and the revised setup keeps two cylinders closed until the bike gains enough speed. In comparison, the cylinder deactivation system on the other standard V4 range shuts off the two cylinders only at idle.
Hardware
The suspension setup on the Multistrada V4 Rally includes the Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO (DSS) semi-active suspension setup with 200mm of travel on both ends. Meanwhile, the braking setup comprises dual discs at the front and a single rotor at the back. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke wheels.
Price and Launch Details
Ducati has announced that the motorcycle will be priced at Rs 29.72 lakh (ex-showroom, India) at launch. The Indian launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023 (October-December 2023). However, the company added that all the prices are indicative and that Ducati India reserves the right to change prices and specifications at its discretion without any prior notice. Once launched, this motorcycle will rival the likes of the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer in the Indian market.
