- Off-road focused Multistrada V4 Rally revealed
- Gets major upgrades
- Could be launched in India by early 2023
The Ducati Multistrada V4 line-up has standard, S and Pikes Peak versions that have been launched over the past two years. And for the 2023 edition of the Ducati World Premiere, the brand has taken the wraps off the Multistrada V4 Rally.
Now, the Rally version is a proper off-road focused variant. While it uses the same 1158cc Granturismo V4 engine with 170bhp, Ducati has updated its cylinder deactivation system for optimum fuel consumption and to comply with emission norms. What the revised system does is keeps two cylinders closed until the bike gains enough speed. In comparison, the cylinder deactivation system on the other V4 range shuts off the two cylinders at idle.
Coming to its new found off-road credentials, the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally benefits from 7.9 inches of extra suspension travel from the same semi-active SkyHook suspension as the other variants. This has resulted in more ground clearance too. Add to that, a set of spoke rims and reinforced engine guards as well as a wider and taller windshield up the ante.
It does not stop at that. The Rally also gets a bigger, 29-litre fuel tank. Then there is the added tech like the Minimum Preload technology that lowers the bike when at a stop to make things easier for shorter individuals. Ducati has also taken the chance to lengthen the tail section to offer more space to the pillion, despite a top-box mounted and added thicker rubber for the pegs to reduce vibrations.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally is being offered in two colours- Ducati Red and Brushed Aluminum with Matte Black that is unique to the Rally. The motorcycle will make its way to international shores soon, but is only likely to be launched in India sometime in 2023.
