The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS has been launched in India at Rs 38.40 lakh, ex-showroom. This is the most powerful and expensive Multistrada V4 on sale in the country. It is also the sportiest iteration of the motorcycle.
A 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine powers the Multistrada V4 RS. It makes 180bhp at 12,250rpm and 118Nm at 9,500rpm. These figures make it the most powerful adventure motorcycle in its class. Not to mention the intoxicating sound it’ll make from the Akrapovic exhaust.
What also helps the bike’s performance is the weight-saving measures that Ducati has carried out. The Multistrada V4 RS has 17-inch, Marchesini forged aluminium rims at both ends and a titanium subframe that is 2.5kg lighter than the subframe on the other Multistrada V4s. The tail section of the bike also does away with the bulky pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket for a technopolymer tail section that looks sleek and sporty.
As expected from a top-level Ducati, the bike is packed with a comprehensive electronics suite. It includes four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low), traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and four ride modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban). The Multistrada V4 RS also gets a Full Power Mode for maximum performance.
Moving on to the looks, the Multistrada V4 RS looks sporty, especially with its Iceberg White colour with a contrasting, red coloured stripe across the tank and radiator cover as well as the red accents on the front brake caliper and a part of the spokes on the alloy wheels. Not to mention the single-sided swingarm that adds to the sporty appearance.
Under the bodywork, there is an Aluminium monocoque chassis of the bike is suspended by electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension at the front and rear. Braking duties are taken care of by twin 330mm discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and 265mm disc at the rear with a Brembo two-piston caliper.
Bookings for the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS are open and deliveries will be made soon. In terms of competition, it goes up against the BMW M 1000 XR.
