-1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 makes 180bhp
The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is set to be launched in India. The company has already listed the motorcycle on its India website and the price is expected to be announced soon. The Multistrada V4 RS is the most powerful Multistrada yet, featuring the same engine that powers the mighty Streetfighter V4 and the Panigale V4.
The headline figures of this engine are impressive and intimidating. This 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 makes 180bhp at 12,250rpm and 118Nm at 9,500rpm. That makes it the most powerful adventure motorcycle in its class.
The engine is known for its punchy midrange and strong top end. While the Multistrada V4 with the 170bhp Granturismo V4 engine is already quite fast, this V4 RS would be even quicker. Not to mention the intoxicating sound that it’ll make from the Akrapovic exhaust.
The Multistrada V4 RS also uses lightweight parts in keeping with aim to enhance overall performance. The bike has 17-inch, Marchesini forged aluminium rims at both ends and a titanium subframe that is 2.5kg lighter than the subframe on the other Multistrada V4s. The tail section of the bike also does away with thebulky pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket for a technopolymer tail section that looks sleek and sporty.
Speaking of looks, the Multistrada V4 RS looks decidedly sporty, especially with its Iceberg White colour with a contrasting, red coloured stripe across the tank and radiator cover as well as the red accents on the front brake caliper and a part of the spokes on the alloy wheels. The single-sided swingarm is another aspect of the design that enhances the visual appeal of the motorcycle.
The list of rider aids on the Multistrada V4 RS is quite comprehensive. It includes four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low), traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and four ride modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban). The Multistrada V4 RS also gets a Full Power Mode for maximum performance.
Lastly, the Aluminium monocoque chassis of the bike is suspended by electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension at the front and rear. Braking duties are taken care of by twin 330mm discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and 265mm disc at the rear with a Brembo two-piston caliper.
The Ducati Mutistrada V4 RS is expected to be priced well between Rs 32 to Rs 35 lakh, ex-showroom. It goes up against the BMW M 1000 XR.
