- Ducati Multistrada V4 spied testing
- Sports a design inspired by the Panigale models
- Likely to feature a 1,103cc engine from the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4
In September last year, Ducati had officially revealed that it is working on the all-new Multistrada V4 adventure tourer. Six months later, a camouflaged test mule was also spotted in the open. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic which disrupted all the operations, including testing of motorcycles. However, the operations at Ducati are apparently back on track now as the Multistrada V4 has been spotted once again.
The new pictures provide more details about the motorcycle as it was devoid of camouflage. The aggressive styling of the Multistrada V4, especially at the front, is clearly inspired by the Panigale models with a sleek dual LED headlamp accompanied by DRL strips on top. Blending with the muscular fuel tank and fairing is a sharp beak along with scoops for air intake and exhaust. Several other elements such as the windscreen design, exposed frame and swingarm geometry are different from the twin-cylinder Multistrada 950 and 1260.
The highlight of this Multistrada will be the V4 engine which is likely to be the same 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale unit which does duty on the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4. While it develops 214bhp on the former and 208bhp on the latter, Ducati will tune the engine differently for the Multistrada to suit its touring character. Furthermore, the electronics package will certainly be top-notch and the radar-assisted cruise control could also be on offer.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 is unlikely to replace any model in the Multi family, instead, it will join the line-up with other models. As for its global debut, it will take place sometime in 2021, according to the statement given by the company.
