If you thought it was only the Dubai Police fleet that had exotic vehicles swelling their ranks, you're wrong! The Italian Police Force has recently added a pair of Ducati Multistradas to their line-up, in addition to some Italian pedigreed supercars.
The Italian cops get a specially modified Ducati Multistrada 1200 S and a Multistrada 1200 Enduro. The motorcycles now are officially a part of the Carabinieri Corps’ fleet that recently debuted during the G7 summit at Taormina (Italy). The superbikes have strengthened the country's emergency and territorial control services of the operative squads in Rome and Milan.
Both the Ducatis are adorned in the colours and logos of the police force. They also get special acoustic and light equipment, as well as vehicular radios. In addition to that, they are also modified to hold the Corps’ weaponry.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 S is a sports touring motorcycle. The 1200 Enduro, on the other hand, is a tread-anywhere bike built to be at ease on any type of terrain, both off-road and on road. Both the motorcycles derive power from an 1198.4cc Ducati Testastretta DVT with Desmodromic Variable Timing. This L-Twin cylinder, liquid cooled engine is tuned to deliver 160hp of power at 9,500rpm and 136Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.
Apart from the Abu Dhabi police, who have their special fleet of exotics, the Zimbabwe cops have the Kawasaki Concours 14. Meanwhile, the law enforcement officers in India get Harley-Davidson Street 750s apart from the usual Bajaj Pulsars.
