After months of making Indian consumers wait, Ducati has finally officially begun its India operations. The company launched two variants of the Scrambler at the same press conference that was held in the Gurgaon showroom, which Ducati claims is one of the largest in the world.
The Italian manufacturer has already opened showrooms in two cities – Gurgaon and Mumbai, along with a service centre, which was a major worry during the last regime. Ducati will soon open doors to a Bengaluru showroom by October, followed by showrooms in Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Cochin, Chandigarh, Indore, Jaipur and Goa.
“In 2013 we began our groundwork in India and our belief in the market has been reaffirmed. This has been possible with great partners such as AMP, Infinity and VST. I have travelled extensively across the length and breadth of India, met Ducatisti, felt their passion and know that we will be successful in this country. Ducati will provide the same high standards of service in India as we do everywhere else in the world," said Pierfrancesco Scalzo, general manager, sales and marketing, Ducati Asia.
