A few days ago there were reports of Ducati developing a new 899 a motorcycle based on the 1199 Panigale platform. Now, thanks to Motociclismo the report can be confirmed completely as they have managed to get their hands on a spy image of the same motorcycle which is likely to be called the Panigale 899.
The image of the Panigale 899 clearly indicates its inspiration and design elements have been taken from its elder twin, the 1199 Panigale. The company has decided to hide the displacement number on its side fairing courtesy of adhesive tape but it is almost certain that this the 899 Panigale.
The Panigale 899 is likely to get a new superquadro 90 degree twin engine that will generate 155bhp with a limiter set at 11,500rpm. Ducati has abandoned its single-sided swingarm for dual-side banana swingarm. There aren’t many details on this motorcycle but we can expect this motorcycle to be unveiled at the 2013 EICMA event in Italy.
